Contable o incontable
Usa bien information, advice o furniture, que en inglés no se cuentan.
La regla
Information, advice, furniture, luggage, news y homework son incontables en inglés, aunque en español se cuenten: no llevan a/an ni plural y el verbo va en singular. Usa some, any o much, o a piece of para contar: a piece of advice. Book, chair o suitcase sí son contables.
Ejemplos
Can you give me some information about the course?¿Me puedes dar información sobre el curso?Information no tiene plural: some information, nunca informations.
My friend gave me a good piece of advice.Mi amigo me dio un buen consejo.Para contar un consejo: a piece of advice, no an advice.
We don’t have much luggage, just two small bags.No llevamos mucho equipaje, solo dos bolsas pequeñas.Luggage es incontable (much); bags sí se cuenta (two bags).
Error típico
✗ I need an information.
✓ I need some information.
Information es incontable: no lleva an ni plural; usa some.
💡 Si no puedes decir «two ___», no uses a ni -s: some advice, some information, some furniture.
