Fun y funny
Distingue lo que es divertido (fun) de lo que te hace reír (funny).
La regla
Fun describe algo con lo que te lo pasas bien: a fun day, the party was fun. Funny describe algo que te hace reír: a funny joke. «Pasarlo bien» es have fun. Ojo: funny también puede significar raro: a funny smell.

The trip to the beach was really fun.La excursión a la playa fue muy divertida.Fun: lo pasasteis bien, aunque nadie contara chistes.
My uncle tells really funny stories.Mi tío cuenta historias muy graciosas.Funny: las historias hacen reír.

Error típico
✗ We had a lot of funny at the party.
✓ We had a lot of fun at the party.
Funny es un adjetivo; «pasarlo bien» es have fun, con fun como sustantivo.
